It's one of the questions we hear constantly around the game of golf: "How do we make the game accessible to a younger fan base?"
This year, The Open Championship is taking what seems like a pretty awesome step in the right direction. At this year's event at Royal Troon, the event will open up The Open Camping Village. The village will feature 500 camping sites each night and will be free for fans 25 and under. Full details are available here.
At first blush, this seems like a festival type of Bonnaroo-meets-golf feel, with Royal Troon walking distance from the campground and what is sure to be a pretty great nightly party.
The only thing left to do is place your bets on which player will be spotted there first.
By the way, we've already set a precedent for camping out at events if anyone needs a camping buddy.
